A sample audio testimonial

Press play. The words light up as she speaks them, and the transcript sits under the recording where a search engine and a sceptical visitor can both read it.

Switch the language and the writing changes while the recording stays exactly as it was spoken. Nothing is dubbed or re-voiced.

What is an audio testimonial?

An audio testimonial is a short recording of a real customer saying what working with you was like. No camera, no script, no editing suite. It sits on your page as a playable card with the person's name, their role and their words written out underneath.

It exists because the two formats either side of it both fail. Written testimonials are easy to publish and easy to disbelieve, because anyone can type anything and visitors know it. Video is believable but expensive to ask for: a customer who would gladly help you has to find a quiet room, decent light and a version of themselves they are happy to be seen as. Most say they will do it later. Later does not come.

Voice sits in between and costs almost nothing to give. A visitor hears hesitation, warmth, an accent, a pause before the honest bit. None of that survives a paragraph of text.

Why customers actually say yes to audio

01

Camera-shy is the default

Plenty of people who love your work will not be filmed. Asking for audio instead removes the single most common reason a testimonial request gets ignored.

02

35 seconds is a favour, not homework

Writing a testimonial means drafting, rereading and wondering whether it sounds right. Talking for half a minute is something your busiest customer can do between meetings.

03

Nothing to install

The link opens in the browser they already have, on the phone already in their hand. No app, no account, no password to reset at the worst possible moment.

How to collect audio testimonials

  1. 01

    Send the link

Create a request and send it however you already talk to that customer — email, WhatsApp, SMS. Ask the day a project lands, while the result is still fresh. Through the API you can trigger the request straight from your CRM.

  2. 02

    They record

They open the link, consent to the recording, and the page counts down from five. If they freeze, prompts are on screen — what would you tell someone who's on the fence? They can listen back and re-record before sending.

  3. 03

    You approve

Nothing reaches your site until you say so. You listen, read the verbatim transcript next to the tidied wording that will be displayed, and approve, hold or delete.

  4. 04

    It goes live

The card appears in the widget you embedded once, and is ready to share as an audio, image or video card for Reels, LinkedIn or X. No developer, no copy and paste.

The audio testimonial widget for your website

Add the embed once. From then on, approving a testimonial is the whole publishing process — the widget updates itself, on any site that lets you paste an embed. There is no second step where someone has to change the page.

The same approved card travels outward as audio, as an image, or as a video card sized for Instagram Reels, LinkedIn and X. Your website, your CRM and your AI assistant all read from one library, so the proof on your landing page and the proof in your pitch are never different versions.

On your site

A playable card or a wall of them, in your own styling.

On social

Audio, image and video cards for Reels, LinkedIn and X.

Through the API

Create requests from your CRM the moment a project wraps.

Audio testimonials your buyers can read in their own language

A testimonial can be translated into Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French and Arabic. The words move; the voice does not. Your buyer in another country reads what your customer said while the original recording plays underneath, with nothing re-synthesised and nothing dubbed. Translations are machine-generated.

Two languages are included on Starter and six on Professional.

What the recordings tell you, beyond the quote

Each transcript is analysed and turned into plain findings: which features customers mention, which problems you actually solved, and which problems they say are still there. That last list is for your product team. The first two are the words to use in your own copy, since they are your buyers' words rather than your marketing's.

Every testimonial is also scored on what was said and on how often it is played and shared, so your strongest proof leads. A strong one sitting in no widget is flagged as a gem rather than quietly going unseen. Analytics and audio cleanup start on Starter.

Audio testimonial questions, answered

What is audio testimonial software?+

It collects recorded voice testimonials from your customers and publishes them. You send a request link, the customer records a short voice note in their browser, you approve it, and the software hosts the recording and gives you a widget to embed it on your website.

Are audio testimonials better than video testimonials?+

They are easier to get. Video carries more, but many customers say no to being filmed, and the ones who say yes worry about lighting and how they look. Audio keeps the part that builds trust, which is a real voice, and removes the part people refuse, which is the camera. If a customer will happily record video, record video.

How long should an audio testimonial be?+

About 35 seconds. Long enough for a specific before and after, short enough that your customer agrees to it and your visitor finishes listening.

Do my customers need an app or an account?+

No. They open a link in whatever browser they already have, give the page permission to use the microphone, and speak. Nothing to install, no account to create, no form to fill in.

Can I embed audio testimonials on any website?+

Yes. You add the embed once and approved testimonials appear in it from then on, with no further code changes.

Can I collect audio testimonials in other languages?+

Yes. A testimonial can be translated into Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French and Arabic, and the reader sees the translated words while the original recording plays. The voice is never altered. Translations are machine-generated. Two languages on Starter, six on Professional.

How much does audio testimonial software cost?+

audesti is free for your first five testimonials. Starter is $18 a month for 50 testimonials a month, audio cleanup, analytics, API access and two translation languages. Professional is $54 a month and adds six translation languages.
